SalesTech speaks with Brian Howe, Alliances Director At Skynamo about his journey in the SalesTech industry.
Tell us about your journey into Sales and Revenue Management in the SalesTech industry.
My journey into sales started completely by accident — but I stayed in it on purpose. I originally trained as an account executive at an advertising agency, but when I moved from South Africa to London in 2000, I took a media sales job just to pay the bills.
At the time, I joined a fast-growing media group that was one of the first to sell online banner adverts to clients. Media sales was supposed to be a short-term stopgap until I found a “better” job in advertising.
However, I never left the sales world. I discovered that I loved the pressure, challenge, and rewards that came with a sales career — and as it turns out, I was pretty good at it. Over the years, I helped pioneer online property listings, sold IP geolocation databases, and eventually joined Skynamo, where I now lead a global team helping businesses around the world succeed with our powerful B2B sales app.
At Skynamo, I’ve seen firsthand how SalesTech innovation is transforming how field sales teams operate — especially in Europe. From early digital advertising to modern mobile sales enablement, the industry has changed dramatically, and it’s exciting to be part of that evolution.
What inspired you to join Skynamo?
Skynamo offers field sales management software and a mobile sales app, which solves many problems for clients who have field sales reps. The product, and the problems it solves, resonate with me as I have spent most of my working life selling and encountering the issues and obstacles the app addresses. What really inspired me though, was our company’s amazing culture!
