Turn Everyday Effort Into Visible Progress: How Skynamo Targets Keep Every Sales Team on Track
Every sales team shares one quiet frustration. Everyone is busy, everyone is working hard, but until the numbers land at month-end, nobody is quite sure whether all that effort is adding up to the goal. By the time the report arrives, the month is often gone and the chance to course-correct has passed.
It does not matter whether your team is out in the field servicing sites, cycling through dozens of reorder accounts a week, or nurturing a handful of long, considered deals. The challenge is the same. Progress is happening, but it is hard to see while it is happening.
Skynamo's Targets feature removes the guesswork. It gives your whole team a live, shared view of progress, so everyone knows where they stand at any moment. No waiting for the weekly meeting, no waiting for the month-end report, just a clear and current picture of how close you are to the goal.
One dashboard, instant clarity
The Targets dashboard shows the percentage achieved rather than raw numbers, so progress reads at a glance. Whether the goal is customer visits, quotes, orders, invoices, or something you define yourself, your team can see how close they are without doing the mental maths. For a rep juggling multiple sites, a broad reorder route, or a small number of high-value deals, that instant read is the difference between reacting to a shortfall and staying ahead of one.
Run-Rate keeps everyone on pace
The Run-Rate feature shows where a rep should be based on the time left in the period. It answers the question every sales team quietly asks itself: am I on track? A slow start is easy to hide and hard to recover from, and Run-Rate surfaces it early, while there is still time to act. If a rep is ahead of pace, Skynamo simply does not show the Run-Rate, which becomes its own quiet vote of confidence.
Pacing matters differently for every team. For seasonal and event-driven work, the rhythm of a month is rarely even. For high-volume supply, steady cadence is everything. For long-cycle selling, one large order can define the whole period. Run-Rate adapts to all of it, keeping effort matched to the time that remains.
Pin what matters most
Reps can pin up to four targets to their dashboard, keeping the most important goals front and centre. When a day is spread across sites, accounts, or opportunities, this keeps focus on the handful of things that actually move the needle, rather than everything competing for attention at once.
Custom targets for the way you really work
Not every goal fits a neat category. Standard targets cover visits, quotes, orders, and invoices, but plenty of businesses measure success in their own terms. Custom targets let you set a goal around anything you care about. Give it a name, upload the actuals, and your team sees exactly where they stand. Litres sold, kilograms moved, units placed, clients onboarded, machine units shipped, a specific product range you are pushing this quarter, whatever defines success in your world can become a target your team can watch and chase.
Target Details show what really counted
Once progress is made, any target can be expanded to reveal the activities behind it, with dates, customer names, and interaction details. No more guessing what moved the needle. For managers, this turns a simple number into a full picture of how the work is actually being done, which makes it a genuinely useful coaching tool as well as an accountability one. For teams in regulated industries, it also delivers the clean, traceable record that careful selling calls for.
Set up in minutes, carry forward automatically
Managers assign targets through a simple Excel import, one row per user, per goal, per month, using plain numbers with no currency symbols. Choose orders, visits, quotes, invoices, or a custom measure, and each target lands on the right user's device. Set a target once and Skynamo carries it forward month to month until you change it, so there is no need to re-import the same goal every cycle. It is a few minutes of setup for a full month of clarity.
Progress you can see, effort you can direct
However your team sells, the principle is the same. When everyone can see the goal and their progress toward it in real time, effort stops being a matter of hope and becomes something you can direct. Reps stay focused, managers can step in where it counts before the month runs out, and the whole team stays pointed at the same clear picture of success.
That is what Skynamo Targets delivers: everyday effort, turned into visible progress.

FAQs:
How do I set targets for my team?
Targets are assigned through a simple Excel import. You add one row per user, per goal, per month, then upload the spreadsheet. Skynamo has a ready-made template you can download to get the format right from the start.
What types of targets can I set?
You can choose from five types: Visits, Quotes, Orders, Invoices, and Custom. Visits, Quotes, and Orders track those activities directly. Invoices is based on Skynamo's own calculation across the customers assigned to a user. Custom lets you measure anything Skynamo does not count automatically.
What is a custom target and when would I use one?
A custom target lets you track a goal that falls outside the standard categories. You simply give it a name and a value. It is ideal for things like litres sold, kilograms moved, units placed, clients onboarded, or sales of a specific product or category. If you calculate invoice values differently to Skynamo, a custom target is also the way to handle that.
Do I have to re-import targets every month?
No. If you set a target for one month and do not supply new values for the next, Skynamo simply reuses the previous month's values and carries them forward. This continues until you import new data, so ongoing goals stay in place without repeated uploads.
What is Run-Rate?
Run-Rate shows where a rep should be based on the time left in the period. It is the quick answer to "am I on track right now?" If a rep is ahead of pace, the Run-Rate does not display, which is a good sign in itself.
Can reps see their own progress?
Yes. Targets appear directly on each user's device, showing the percentage achieved rather than raw numbers, so progress reads at a glance. Reps can also pin up to four targets to keep their most important goals front and centre.
Can I see what activity counted toward a target?
Yes. Any target can be expanded through Target Details to reveal the interactions behind the progress, including dates and customer names. It is useful for accountability, for coaching, and for keeping a traceable record.
What time periods can targets cover?
Targets are currently set on a monthly basis. The date field marks the month the target applies to, using a Year/Month/Day format.
Do I need to include currency symbols in the target value?
No. Enter numbers and values only, with no currency symbols. A target of R75,000 through orders is simply entered as 75000.
How do I update or remove a target?
Each row includes an action: Add to create a new target, Update to change an existing one, or Delete to remove one. You set the action per row when you import.
